Savor Seattle Food Tour – Experts of Local Food & Restaurant in Seattle

By GarunaLiu

This was our first experience in joining a local food tour. It was also one of our favorite tours while we visited Seattle in June 2011.

The Savor Seattle Food Tour has several different food tours available. You can check them out at: http://www.savorseattletours.com/

By time, we selected the Craving Capitol Hill Tour, and our tour guide name is Caroline Hinchliff. She is friendly, active and loves the karaoke.

The tour focus on testing some foods & beverages, which they have experienced in local restaurants. From the initial meeting point at the Victrola Coffee Roasters, we walked to each restaurant. Our tour guild also gave us individual headphone sets to communicate while walking to each restaurant.

We started the tour with no rain and good weather condition. Our group had about 15 people.

Here were the lists of restaurants:

Caroline took us from place to place by side walk, in the mean time, she talked about the restaurant and introduced us a popular slag word “hipster”. We have fun to learning about the hipster people and learn their tradition, for example what do they wear and how do they stay active; snap shot & chatting etc. There were some people interested about our group and asked about our tour, while we stopped outside the restaurants.

While we were in each restaurant, there was a representative from that restaurant to give us a brief description about the food & tradition and answered our questions. Then the best part was tasting the food. There was a variety; some restaurant gave us as sample different kind of foods, but some gave you only one choice.

We tasted the food and liked most of them. Savor Seattle Food Tour has selected some of the best restaurants in Seattle for their tours. We truly enjoy this food tour. Garuna wants to comment that some restaurants had healthy, low calories food on the tour as well.

We would highly recommend this tour for flexible people, who can taste in any food sample or beverages, but not recommend for people who have difficulty walking several miles & food allergy problem & on vegetarian diet, and on strict control weight. We also don’t recommend the tour for children who eat only limited food items like pizza, chicken or macaroni & chess.
