Focus Stacking is the process to combine several images, which are the same size and similar content, combining the area of sharpness to increase the depth of field.

Create the Image Stack in Photoshop CS5.X (Extended)


Open Photoshop CS5.X (Extended), go to

File>Scripts>Load Flies into Stack, browse to the folder or files.

Select Align images and Create Smart Objects>OK

All the images combine in one image.

How to edit the Image Stack:

a) Smart Object:

  • Double click at the small icon in layer (right hand)

or

  • Go to Layer>Smart Objects>Edit Content


b) Stack Modes

Go to Layer>Smart Objects>Stack Mode

C) Rasterize: Go to

  • Layer>Rasterize>Smart Object

or

  • Layer>Smart Object>Rasterize

(*You can not use any painting tools or filter and color adjustment in Smart Objects until convert into "Rasterize".*)
